Meet #1 on March 28th is at Brittany Hill Middle School
Specific Meet InformationBus will be leaving Lakeview at 2:45 pm. We are currently scheduled to have 2 buses, but we will contact parents via Remind if there are any issues with bussing.
If you want to bring your athlete home with you, please ensure that you have completed the Parent Transportation Release Form Meet Start Time: 4:00pm Meet Format: The first 2 heats will be scoring heats for all sprint and hurdle races. Each school will have a total of 3 runners in the first 2 heats. Relays and distance are scored by a standard quad scoring format. Middle School athletes are limited to a maximum of three running events and one field event, according to NFHS guidelines. Restrooms: Located inside the school main hallway on the right side. Spikes are not to be worn inside the school. Facilities: No locker facilities are available. Seating: We have very limited bleacher seating. We suggest your fans bring lawn chairs. Surfaces: All weather surfaces. Athletes may use 1/8" spikes or flats. Relay Zones: Relay zones are 400 meter relay is Yellow to Yellow. 800 meter relay is Red to Red, Red to Red, and then Yellow to Yellow. 1600 meter relay is Blue to Blue on the first exchange then Red to Red (3 turn stagger). Bull Pen: For 100 dash and Hurdles the start will be located at west end of the track at the starting line; for all other races, the bullpen will be at the apron on the south side of the football field. Warm-Ups: Please stay off football field as much as possible. Athletes can use outside lanes on back straightaway. Start/Finish Line: East end of Track (Exception: 100 M. Dash, 100 M. Hurdles) Shot Put: Each athlete will be allowed three (3) throws. Any throws under 6.5 m (girls) and 8 m (boys) will not be measured. Discus: Each athlete will be allowed three (3) throws. Any throws under 12 m (girls) and 18 m (boys) will not be measured. Jumps: Each athlete will be allowed three (3) jumps. All jumps are to be completed within one hour from the start of the meet. High Jump: 5 entries per school for boys & 5 entries for girls. Girls will jump first and open at 4'0". Boys will follow and open at 4'6". Pole Vault: The Middle Schools in Blue Springs do not have Pole Vault as an event. Please leave poles at home. Order of Events: We use the same order of events as the High School and we also run the 1600 Meter Relay as our last event. See attached Order of Events. |
